Best Places to Buy Clothes Cheap and Why These Stores Are Great
We all love the feeling of getting new clothes. But not so much purchasing clothes. Clothes can get pretty expensive though. Additionally, Americans on average spent around $1,800 on clothes in 2017! That is crazy! Americans need to realize we can look good but also buy clothes cheap.
I personally love clothes, but I do not like to spend a lot on them. There are so many options in the U.S. to buy clothes cheap. You don’t have to go into debt to buy clothes either. You prefer name brands? Don’t worry, I do too!
This is a list of retailers that I use and recommend to buy clothes cheap. The list is ordered from most expensive to least expensive. Some of these retailers carry your favorite name brands as well!
For each store, I linked where you can find the closest store to you 🙂
I listed these two stores together because they are so similar. These two stores are my favorite for buying name brands. TJ Maxx and Ross also have great ordinary brands as well! They seem to have a bit of everything like clothes, jewelry, housewares, handbags, and even furniture.
Caution! Some of TJ Maxx’s items can be on the expensive side. If you give in to temptation easily, you might want to reconsider TJ Maxx. Additionally, I do not recommend TJ Maxx’s website. Their items are just more expensive online and it’s difficult to buy clothes cheap here. The website does not offer majority of the deals you can find in-store.
Many Target shoppers forget about the awesome clothes they offer. Target’s clothes are high quality and fashionable. You can buy cheap clothes and groceries in the same place, which is very convenient. Target’s groceries are more on the expensive side though. Many people tend to overlook these stores. You may think these stores are “lame” or out-of-style but please take another look. These stores have changed greatly over the years. One thing I think turns off a lot of people would be having their store name/custom logos on their clothing. I understand you completely. You want to buy clothes cheap but don’t want others to know it is cheap. One giveaway that the clothes are “cheaper” is the big GAP or OldNavy text in the middle of your shirt.
These stores are very guilty of having their logos on their clothing but i. I was very surprised the first time I went back into these stores and saw what they were. Just normal clothes. This made me look around and actually buy products from both stores at the same great prices. GAP and Old Navy seem to always have a “sale” going on. It’s kind of like the going out of business sales you see all the time at your local mattress store. Like come on, this is your sixth going out of business sale, is it really a sale?
Anyways, make sure to visit these stores for great sales. I really like their stylish clothes, moreover, it’s easy to buy clothes cheap here.
I absolutely love Plato’s Closet. Some of my favorite items have come from Plato’s. For those who don’t know, Plato’s Closet is a 2nd hand clothing store. How it works is people bring their clothing in that they do not want anymore. The Plato’s then buys the items they want for the store. Customers then are given opportunities to buy the clothing from that store.
I know what some of you are thinking, you don’t like wearing used-clothes. What you have to understand is Plato’s Closet only accepts only quality clothes in good condition. For the most part, Plato’s Closet clothes seem like new clothes. But, you can buy clothes cheap here! It’s highly discounted because the clothes are used. Some items are a little more expensive than you think they should be but hey, pick and choose people.
You can find almost any type of clothing you could want. Check it out!
You may be thinking, “These stores have nothing I want.” or “Thrift stores are gross and so are their clothes.” Well, think of thrift stores as undiscovered treasure. They can have a lot of great items for great prices, you just have to find them.
It really depends on which stores you go to. Different areas donate different items. I’ve been to random thrift stores all over America. Sometimes I search forever and walk away with nothing. Other times I bring home a closet full of clothes.
Another great quality of Goodwill and America’s Thrift Store’s is the large number of options. You could literally spend hours in these stores and not have browsed everything. This is the best value option to buy clothes cheap.
